Cast on multiples of 6 stitches
Row 1: *P1, K4* repeat between * to end of row and finish P1.
Row 2: *K1, P4* repeat between * to end of row and finish K1.
Row 3: *P1, as
if to purl slip the next 2 stitches to a cable needle and hold at the
front of the work (in knitting pattern the instruction would be 4CF), K
the next 2 stitches, then K the 2 stitches from the cable needle*
repeat between * to end of row and finish P1
Row 4: Repeat row 2
Repeat these 4 rows for desired length.
To Knit in the round cast on multiples of 5 stitches
Round 1: *P1, K4* repeat to end of round
Round 2: *P1, as if to
purl, slip the next 2 sts to a cable needle and hold at the front of
the work, K the next 2sts, K the 2 sts from the cable needle*, repeat
to end of the round.
Rounds 3 & 4: repeat round 1
