Feather
and Fan Lace is sometimes referred to as Old
Shael in English patterns.
It is such an easy pattern and ideal for a
beginner's
attempt at knitting lace. It is a very versatile
pattern and
you will find lots of uses for it, try it out on scarf's or
even
baby blankets.
Feather and Fan Lace
Cast on multiples of 18 stitches
Row 1 :
K
Row 2:
P
Row 3: *K2
tog 3 times, YO, K1 6 times, K2 tog 3 times*, repeat between *
to end of row
Row 4:
K
Note:
to yarn over in a
knit stitch bring the yarn from the back of your stitch to the front
then over the needle and to the back again, in many lace patterns this
is referred to as M1 (make 1 stitch)
Repeat these 4 rows for desired length.
Knitting in the round cast on multiples of 18 stitches
Rounds 1& 2:
K
Round 3: *K2 tog 3
times, YO, K1 6 times, K2 tog 3 times*, repeat between * to
end of round
Round 4(WS):
P
Repeat these 4 rounds for desired length.
