Moss stitch, or as it is sometimes called the Irish Moss stitch is
often incorporated into Irish knitting patterns, the moss stitch
symbolises well being for the seafaring men of Ireland.

Flat knitting:

from * to end
Rows
3 and 4: *P1,
K1 rep from * to end
Circular knitting:
Rounds
1 &
2: *K1, P1, repeat from * to
end of round
Rounds
3 &
4: *P1, K1, repeat from *to
end of round
