Moss Panels



As with other Moss stitch techniques this technique is often used in traditional Irish and Scottish knits.  It can be used to for your entire item, or just to insert a featured panel.

Cast on multiples of  eight (8) plus seven (7) stitches

Row 1: k3, *p1, k3; repeat from *
Row 2: p3, *k1, p3; repeat from *
Row 3: k2, p1, k1, *(p1, k2) twice, p1, k1; repeat from *, end p1, k2
Row 4: p2, k1, p1, *(k1, p2) twice, k1, p1; repeat from *, end k1, p2
Row 5: k1, *p1, k1; repeat from *
Row 6: p1, *k1, p1; repeat from *
Row 7: Repeat Row 3
Row 8: Repeat Row 4
Row 9: Repeat Row 1
Row 10: Repeat Row 2

These 10 rows form your pattern, repeat rows 1-10
